Based around a lake, Heide Park is an eclectic mix of rides and scenery. The gardens and horticulture are an attraction in themselves. The UK based Merlin Entertainments Group acquired the park in 2001, and have been investing ever since. The huge wooden coaster 'Colossus', was the first installation of the Intamin Plug & Play construction technique, providing a much smoother ride than standard wooden coasters.
